The Bayer Young Environmental Envoy (BYEE) programme was initiated in 1998 in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) as a local project in Thailand. The programme aims to enhance the role of youths in environmental protection and give them an opportunity to learn about the inter-relationship between the environment and development from both national and international perspectives.

Each year, top participants are selected for a weeklong study trip in Germany where they can interact with youths worldwide and learn about cutting-edge technology and environmental management in Germany. The study trip gives delegates the opportunity to understand German practises and bring back information and ideas to promote environmental awareness among Thai people and their respective communities.
